I charge by the hour and do not request any time obligation from my clients.  I work for you only as much as you want me to.  I have worked with many homeowners that just want two or three hours of my time giving them ideas and suggestions for things that they will do themselves over time.  I have also worked with  many clients that want a longer and much more hands on commitment, requesting much more involvement in the decorating,  renovation, new construction, and/or the design process.  I enjoy all types of  working arrangements and can satisfy decorating and design needs of any scale. 

My main goal in helping you decorate your home is for you to have a finished space that you love, are proud of, and that reflects your taste and style. I don't take a commission or percentage on things that I purchase for you, so I am not motivated by you spending more money, but by finding the best items that fit your home, taste, and budget, whether that is from Ethan Allan and Greenfront, or Pier 1 and JCPenny.

When I come to your home for a Color Consultation with over 4,000 paint color options on individual index card sized paint chips, it is easy to find the perfect paint colors whether they be subtle or intense.  I know the different paint fan decks well, and can confidently and quickly help you add personality, interest, and cohesion to your home with the color that is just right.  

With a Decorating Consultation I will look at your space with years of experience and with instinctual creativity.  I will help you plan ways to make your rooms reflect your style and feel inviting, finished, and pulled together.  

To treat your guests well, your guest room should be one of the most comfortable and inviting rooms in your home. It is fairly simple and straight forward to add the special touches, or even to start from scratch and  create a space that will be welcoming and pleasantly memorable for your company. 

A basic of good design is to build consistent layers in a room. It is one of my goals to build a well put together room that doesn't appear overly designed, but looks seamlessly put together and purposeful. One way of doing this is to pull out anything from your room that will not look consistent with the nicest pieces in your rooms and then add layers of furnishings that all go toward building the look and style we are trying to achieve. 

Many clients tell me that they have wasted money over the years on things that they thought would work or that they liked in the store but when they brought them home they were dissatisfied with their purchases.  After working with me, they are able to have direction and confidence in their home furnishings purchases. I  coach them on what to look for in terms of style, function, finish, color, and size, and they can confidently shop and purchase items that will build the proper style layers and functionality for their spaces. 

I work with both kinds of clients all the time.  A lot of  people just don't want to shop for home furnishings or they just don't have the time to.   I can efficiently help these type of clients  find just the right things for their home.  I work with them before I begin the search,  defining  their style and expectations for the spaces I am helping them with.  I  will sometimes make an appointment with the client to meet in a specific store, having scouted out options, and will quickly guide them to those options.  I  also make purchases of smaller items and bring them to the client's home for approval. Frequently I  shop on line and exchange links with clients for possible purchases.  I strive to take the pain and some of the time out of shopping for people that need that service. 

I love redoing bathrooms!  It is exciting for clients to have a bathroom that they dislike and turn it into a room that they are proud of and that is more consistent with the rest of their home. Bathrooms can be "made over" on many levels of renovation and upgrading. Almost any bathroom can look great, even with relatively minor changes and cost.
